Sean's IGCSE Results! 9As or 8A* and 1 A!

 Sean's results just came out. We waited for 2 hours for this and what results!

8 A*!

And as he sat for his Malay paper earlier:

He miraculously got an A for Malay as well!

All in all, that's 9As!!!

This is what I wrote on facebook:

We brought Sean out of school after he was badly bullied for a whole year in Standard One. He have fully homeschooled him since then, and only enrolled him in a homeschooling center in the past 2 years to prepare him for his IGCSE (at TNCC Educenter)

We have always wondered if we were doing the right thing, whether we were disadvantaging him in terms of his studies.

We were never tiger parents. For a year he didn't do any studies at all and only played with his other homeschooling friends. Then for a year he only did math! Then we mixed his studies with homeschool group studies, unschooling methods, using workbooks and even an online homeschooling course before enrolling him in a homeschooling center. By the end before enrolling him, he was studying completely by himself without us teaching him or prodding him to study

No doubt Educenter helped to balance out his studies as I know we probably had alot of blind spots in his studies, but I think the homeschooling helped keep him curious and interested in his studies, even in the many subjects he's never learned before and he had learned to study independently

But at the end, he ended up fine. And to us, this was a validation that we did all right by him.

He's now a happy, social and popular teen and I am glad we did what we did.
